Mark poles and leaders with a center mark on each pole and each leader
To make sure you have the correct tension on your fabric, finger test after the fabric is loaded.
You should be able to just barely put your fingertips between the bed of the machine and the fabric under the idler pole.
Idler pole may rub on the bed of the machine. That’s fine. After the fabric is tensioned correctly the
pole will be the correct height. Don’t over-tighten your poles.
The poles can bow when you over-tighten them which will cause distortion when using groovy boards and pantographs.
