Download Instructions

1. Click on the HQ_Updates_2.0.06.exe file and save the file to your
   desktop.
2. Insert your USB storage drive into your computer.
3. Copy the file from your desktop to your USB storage drive. This can be
   accomplished by clicking My Computer, and browsing to your USB storage drive
   (e.g. your E: drive) and dragging the HQupdates.exe file from your desktop
   to the E: drive in your My Computer window.
4. Click on the Remove Hardware icon in the bottom-right corner of your
   computer and select Safely Remove to safely remove your USB storage device.
5. Insert your USB storage drive into your Pro-Stitcher and tap the Update
   Pro-Stitcher box on the touch screen.
6. Double-tap the file named "HQ_Updates_2.0.06.exe" and follow the
   on-screen instructions to install the update.

 

Troubleshooting

If you are trying to upgrade from version 1.2.0 or older, your Pro-Stitcher may not recognize the update file. The earlier software versions are looking only for a file named "HQupdates.exe." If you have this older software you will need to change the name of the update file from "HQ_Updates_2.0.06.exe" to "HQupdates.exe" prior to pressing the Update button on the main screen.

 

If, upon pressing the Update button, you find that the Pro-Stitcher software has shut down and you are left in a white Windows screen with a purple Handi Quilter logo, please follow these instructions to start the update program:

 

a. Tap on the "Start" button on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen (if you do not see a "Start" button, tap repeatedly as low on the screen as you can until the "Start" button appears).

b. Tap on the "My Computer" button.

c. Under "Devices with Removable Storage" you should see a drive labeled "Removable Disk" if your USB stick is plugged in. Double-tap on this drive.

d. Browse through your removable disk (USB stick) to locate the update file you just downloaded and double-tap it to start the update program.

e. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
